My Everything

This weekend I heard this song and it really touched a place in my heart.

My Everything by Tim Hughes

GOD IN MY LIVING
THERE IN MY BREATHING
GOD IN MY WAKING
GOD IN MY SLEEPING

GOD IN MY RESTING
THERE IN MY WORKING
GOD IN MY THINKING
GOD IN MY SPEAKING

CHORUS:

BE MY EVERYTHING
BE MY EVERYTHING
BE MY EVERYTHING
BE MY EVERYTHING

VERSE 2:

GOD IN MY HOPING
THERE IN MY DREAMING
GOD IN MY WATCHING
GOD IN MY WAITING

GOD IN MY LAUGHING
THERE IN MY WEEPING
GOD IN MY HURTING
GOD IN MY HEALING

BRIDGE:

CHRIST IN ME
CHRIST IN ME
CHRIST IN ME THE HOPE OF GLORY
YOU ARE EVERYTHING

CHRIST IN ME
CHRIST IN ME
CHRIST IN ME THE HOPE OF GLORY
BE MY EVERYTHING

Thanksgiving 1993

Hey Folks!

This blogging once per week thing is going to be way harder than I anticipated. Life has been crazy intense for me. I say that like my life isn't usually crazy intense. :) My question really is how do you live your life to the fullest without over committing yourself??? Life takes on a fantastic flavor when you squeeze in that one more thing...... take that crazy leep of faith..... take that unexpected road trip or do that thing that just doesn't exactly makes sense. With that said lets get back to Thanksgiving. Today I'd like to talk about why I'm thankful for my family.

The memory that comes to mind when I think of family and this holiday is Thanksgiving 1993. I was a freshman at Harding University in Searcy Arkansas. Every Thanksgiving they run all the students out of the dorms for the whole break. I had made arrangements to spend Thanksgiving with a friend's family. The night before I had to be out of the dorms this girl comes to me and says, "I'm sorry its just not going to work out for you to spend Thanksgiving with us.... I hope something else works out for ya"

Early the next day I'm scrambling around looking for somewhere to go and still make it to all my classes. One of my friends couldn't offer a place to stay but did have an extra seat in his car heading to California. In a panic (at this point I had visions of myself staying in a motel somewhere in Searcy Arkansas on Thanksgiving eating a bowl of cereal and feeling "really Thankful") I call my Mom and explained the situation.

"Hi Mom....basically I'm getting kicked out of the dorms in a couple hours and I dont have a place to stay for Thanksgiving..... but I did get a ride to Bakersfield California..... can you come and pick me up???" My Mom's voice on the other end saying, "Cindy Bakersfield is a long ways away!" This is when I burst into tears saying, "I'm really homesick!" My mother's reply is awesome!!!! "Ok Cindy .... you get in that car and I will find a way to come and get you"

Let's put it this way........ Bakersfield California is about 15 hours away from where my family lives in Oregon!

Need I say more! My mom loves me! :) Who can say thier Mother and Grandmother took a spontaneous 15 hour road trip to pick you up to only spend 2 days at home..... turn around and drive you another 15 hours to catch your ride back to Arkansas. AMAZING!!!!

Thank you Lord for my family!!!!!

Thanksgiving is on its way!!!

Okay everybody I am just trying this out so I guess I haven't really settled into my blog style or whatever. There is so much coming up in my life where do I start??????

I guess I would like to start with Thanksgiving. My all time favorite holiday is coming up and I think to really get a full Thanksgiving experience it takes a lot of preparation. Its Oct 21st and I would like to ask whoever might read this......What are you thankful for and are you cultivating an attitude of gratitude????

Well for for starters the Word says that every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord. So with that in mind......Heres my list of what I'm thankful for today.

1. God's grace
2. My amazing friends

The phrase God's grace is so far reaching. Initially I'm thankful for the forgiveness of my sins and the Lord emparting grace to me. The Lord could forgive us our sins and leave it at that but because he is graceous and loving he extends to us beauty in so many forms.

I live on Maui ...... nuf said!!!! :)

I also find remarkable beauty in the people around me. I know some of the most amazing people on this planet. In December 2005 I ran the Honolulu Marathon and I had this exceptional group of people fly over to Oahu with the sole purpose of cheering for me. To this day that blows my mind. They woke up with me at 3am and then met up with me at lots of different points throughout the race. There were no casual cheers there was whole hearted, bust a gut, scream your heart out, uninhibited sheer insanity when I would pass them on the marathon route. Literally the other runners would stare at me and ask me how much I paid my friends. HA HA HA HA!!! The entire day I was overcome with emotion for so many reasons one being I felt so loved. Anybody could run 26.2 miles with friends with like mine! They are truly a treasure and I praise the Lord everday for these people.

WOW I have so much to be thankful for!!!! :)
